The 7 Synonyms for God

The study of Christian Science gives us the 7 Synonyms for God. These synonyms help us to better understand God. (Principle, Mind, Soul, Spirit, Life, Truth & Love). The Bible tells us we were made in God's image and likeness, so we each express these 7 synonyms. Here is a poem I wrote about the synonyms recently.

Principle’s rule is the law of the ages

Etched in heaven, revealed in prayer for you and me- 

Justice, freedom and power lift off its pages A wisdom that’s ours, eternally Mind’s mission grows clear this creative vision 

sifts through what doesn’t belong 

What our Maker mandates cannot go wrong.

Soul’s reign of beauty is eternal 

It does not ebb and flow 

It’s water’s serene reflection, Saturating thought with all one needs to know

Spirit expresses without limit 

A Source providing vibrance, warmth, vigor, freshness - shining every minute 

Life’s petals are graceful glory 

opening up our true story 

It’s the flower that did not fade 

even in the shade Truth’s faithful foundation stands towering tall and true, commanding

its pillars do not shake in sand- 

the rock remains sturdy on the land

Love blankets it’s creation, covering

stretching, universal, all can hear 

Wrapping us in the wise understanding
