Love Meets the Need

Updated: Feb 7, 2022

Love meets the need :)

(Underlines are my own.)

What is the need? Do we need to pray for things?

"Divine Science, rising above physical theories, excludes matter, resolves things into thoughts, and replaces the objects of material sense with spiritual ideas." (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy 123:12)

The idea of "things into thoughts" is a helpful one.  It's not about finding a person, getting a new car or even about getting a new job. But it's about thoughts. Thoughts are right ideas like: Companionship, peace, transportation, health, freedom, protection, abundance...etc.

Right ideas are given infinitely to God's children, because God loves all of his children.

Mrs. Eddy writes more about spiritual ideas...

"God gives you His spiritual ideas, and in turn, they give you daily supplies. Never ask for to-morrow: it is enough that divine Love is an ever-present help; and if you wait, never doubting, you will have all you need every moment." (Mis. 307:1–5) When we see these right ideas already at work, it's evidence of God's love for us. Therefore, we don't have to tell God what we need. We can be a witness to God's love for his creation which meets every need. "Your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask Him." — Christ Jesus. "The “divine ear” is not an auditory nerve. It is the all-hearing and all-knowing Mind, to whom each need of man is always known and by whom it will be supplied." (SH 7:23–27) "...God knows our need before we tell Him or our fellow-beings about it." (SH 13:13–16)

Mrs. Eddy emphasizes what we really need:

"What we most need is the prayer of fervent desire for growth in grace, expressed in patience, meekness, love, and good deeds." (SH 4:3–5)

"More love is the great need of mankind."

(Mis. 107:11 (only)) Love meets all needs. "Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need." (SH 494:10–11) More ideas like this daily on instagram. @doveandoliveleaf Have a lovely evening,
